3D Environments
Completed October, 2025
Throughout the 2470 Animation course, the class was tasked with completing two 3D environments that conveyed a story for the viewer. Similar to how animators set a scene for a character to interact with, we learned modeling and texturing skills in the software Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, and Premier Pro to produce completely rendered animations of our designed rooms.
ENVIRONMENT 1
Before the rendering process, I decided to create a darker and somewhat moonlit atmosphere that conveyed the cozier and eerier aspect of the environment. Through the process of texturing, I decided to experiment with more realistic materials and shading to emphasize the mysterious and secluded space in which this being resides.
ENVIRONMENT 2
The texturing and lighting process differed from the first environment through the manual outlining and consistent paper-like texturing that I applied to the scene. By using Adobe Substance Painter, I was able to capture a more cartoonish look on the models, which contrasts from the more realistic approach I had with the first room. As for lighting, I spent a lot of time creating a warmly lit and cozy atmosphere for the mouse to reside, deciding to keep the space simple and lived-in, while also trying to capture the light from the rest of the house shining in through the hole in the wall.
