Creepy Character
Completed November, 2024
For the Creepy Character project, we were tasked with completing a 3D model in ZBrush that represented a combination of an animal and machine to play around with silhouette. My character was intended to be a rabbit with a mutation where its skin seems to be melting off of its own bones due to radiation exposure. In the end, I modeled the rabbit with an abstract reference to a crane machine.
CONCEPT SKETCHES
We began the project by completing a plethora of concept sketches, exploring 5 separate concepts through a chosen 6 animals. Following critique, it was concluded that my most successful and interesting sketch was the rabbit and skull idea. With this, I then developed more angles, emotions, dynamic poses, and details for the rabbit I decided to pursue.

We were tasked with completing many elements that would be used to construct our character sheet, such as facial expressions, full-body movement shots, and close-up snapshots of the creepy creature. Here, I really explored more of the rabbit's story line and how to further develop the character in preparation for the character sheet.
CHARACTER SHEET
Following the completion of the concept art, we created a character sheet that consisted of the origin story, close-ups, a full body turn around, walk cycle, and size comparison. In this step, we had to experiment with color and finalizing our creature before implementing it into ZBrush for the start of the 3D modeling process.

PROGRESS
Below are the pictures taken during the process of modeling our creature.

The first progress photo is dedicated to the character block out. Therefore, the objective was to get down the general shapes of the creature before dynameshing and going forth with intricate detail work.
This photo represents the details being added before merging layers, finalizing minute details, and adding color to the creature. I specifically focused on revising the face, skull, claws, and back to bring more life and realism into the rabbit.

FINAL TURNAROUND
For the final product, I focused a lot of time working on texturing and coloring the rabbit, skull, and blood to make the creature look as real as possible.
