Poster Designs
Completed October - December, 2024
Below consists of poster designs completed during the 2200 Graphic Design Survey course. The studies and final works presented were completed using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, as the class learned to navigate the software and acquire skills for future design projects. The point of these projects were to learn composition and broaden our knowledge in the history behind graphic design movements in relation to real world events.
GRUNGE POSTERS
I was tasked with completing icons and posters relating to the Grunge and Punk movement that took place in the early 1970s as both a continuation and a reaction to the 1960s counterculture movements. The class first began the project by studying the style and completing three icons that represented their chosen movement, and later designed three posters that captured the ideals and compositions that were seen in historic works during their movement.

TYPOGRAPHY
The later half of the year consisted of typography studies and more experimentation of composition. The left compositions were meant to teach the class about layout and the importance of intentional font choice, whereas the right showcases a final poster design of a specific font that branches from the skills learned through the typography study. The font families that I was assigned correlated with the Neoclassical movement for graphic design, which is why elements such as grids and geometric features were added to emphasize the sharper serifs of the typefaces to ultimately further explain the combination of structure and elegance that the movement promoted.
